CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Charlotte man has been arrested and charged with murder following the death of a young woman, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
According to jail and court records, Demontrez Breelove, 26, was taken into custody Sunday, Jan. 25, and charged with murder in connection with the death of 23-year-old Serenity Tate. He is also facing a charge for obstructing justice, according to county documents.
The investigation began Saturday afternoon, Jan. 24, when officers were notified that a woman had arrived at a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite medical efforts, she later died.
