CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Thursday, Jan. 29, due to weather conditions, district officials announced.
Other Charlotte-area school remain closed or will have delays as temperatures continue to drop below freezing overnight following the weekend ice storm.
- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: 2-hour delay
- Alexander County Schools: Remote learning
- Avery County Schools: Closed with optional teacher workday
- Ashe County Schools: Remote learning
- Burke County Schools: Remote learning (Thursday and Friday)
- Cabarrus County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Caldwell County Schools: Remote learning
- Catawba County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Gaston County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Iredell-Statesville Schools: Remote learning
- Mooresville Graded Schools: 2-hour delay
- Newton-Conover Schools: Closed
- Rowan-Salisbury Schools: Remote learning
- Union County Schools: 2-hour delay
- Watauga County Schools: Remote learning
For CMS, all before-school programs will also follow the delayed schedule.
