CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The general counsel for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district is stepping down at the end of this month, more than two years before her contract was set to expire.
According to a copy of the separation agreement obtained by WBTV, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education will pay André Mayes a one-time severance payment of $289,430 to terminate her employment on January 31, 2026. The agreement was first reported by the Charlotte Ledger.
