Charlotte French bulldog reunited with owner months after stolen, held for ransom

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The French bulldog that was stolen in Charlotte and allegedly held for ransom in April 2025 is back home, his owner reported.

Julio and Jayla Gittens, were reunited on Monday, Feb. 2, after the dog was found outside of an animal control facility. Julio was found on Friday, but the weekend snowstorm, which brought historic snowfall across the state, prevented them from being reunited.
