Another round of rain, possibly snow, expected this week in Charlotte: Forecast here

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Behind our weekend snowstorm, temperatures plummeted to the coldest lows we’ve seen in several years, even tying a record at 10 degrees Monday morning in Charlotte.

Sunshine and highs in the low 40s will help melt lingering snowpack on the roads; however, icy patches remain. Anything that melts this afternoon will refreeze as the sun goes down and temperatures fall back into the teens and low 20s across the area tonight.

Take it easy if you have to get out on the roadways tonight and early tomorrow morning. By the afternoon, we’ll warm back into the upper 40s.

Precipitation returns midweek

Our next round of precipitation moves in late Tuesday into early Thursday. This will likely be just showers for most of the area, most of the time.

At the tail end, however, we could see a changeover to snow in our northwestern counties…
