Man accused in Charlotte QuikTrip hammer killing pleads not guilty, trial set for 2026

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Charlotte man accused of killing a woman inside a QuikTrip bathroom appeared in court on Thursday, where he pleaded not guilty.

According to Mecklenburg County court records, Sam Roary’s jury trial is scheduled for Nov. 26, 2026, at the Mecklenburg County Courthouse.

Roary is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Glandina Dixon, who was found beaten to death inside a QuikTrip bathroom on North Graham Street in August 2024…
