Four arrested after shooting at northwest Charlotte hotel

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Four people were arrested last month in connection to a shooting investigation out of a northwest Charlotte hotel.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, on Jan. 23, officers responded to a larceny-from auto call for service in the 3500 block of Philemon Avenue, off of East 36th Street.

During the investigation, officers connected an abandoned vehicle to a shooting case across town that occurred less than an hour before.

A court affidavit indicates that officers responded to the Econo Lodge on Glenwood Drive, where a Chevrolet Cobalt was found with multiple bullet holes in the driver’s side and windshield. Officers say the mother of suspect Jalen Brown’s child was allegedly at the motel with another man, and Brown had texted him earlier to find his location…
