CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The mother of a man who died at the Mecklenburg County detention center in 2024 filed a wrongful death lawsuit in federal court on Thursday.
The lawsuit alleges that Renny Mobley, 42, never received the correct prescriptions for his medical diagnoses while detained. The lawsuit also claims that Mobley died from a drug overdose after a failure to screen all staff for illicit substances when they enter the jail.
