Gastonia-area food scene: New breweries, restaurants, and more

If you’ve got a cold beer, then you probably want pizza, so a Belmont brewery made headlines when it announced in January it was teaming up with a restaurant group to do just that.

Sugar Creek Brewing Company

After selling for $2 million the former Cavendish Brewing Company building in Gastonia will soon undergo months of renovations to become Sugar Creek Brewing Company’s headquarters, complete with a restaurant, small tap room, and full-scale brewing operation, according to part owner Eric Flanigan.
