A 21-year-old has been charged in a deadly shooting that rattled a northwest Charlotte neighborhood, capping what police describe as a months-long homicide investigation into a Jan. 5 killing on Carol Avenue.
Authorities say Taylen Germon Barbour was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Kishmere Wright in the 3000 block of Carol Avenue. Neighbors watched in disbelief the night first responders arrived and found Wright suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, detectives with the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team located Barbour and arrested him on Jan. 27. CMPD says he was taken to the Law Enforcement Center for an interview and later transferred into Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s custody, where he is charged with murder…
