Cancer is getting younger, and Charlotte-area women are on the front line. Clinics in Charlotte and the nearby Triangle are seeing more middle-aged and even younger women walk in with cancers that not long ago showed up mostly in older adults. North Carolina resident Lynn Bare was 54 when she learned in 2020 that she had endometrial cancer. She later enrolled in a Duke clinical trial that paired immunotherapy with chemotherapy, hoping her case might also help future patients.
