The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has announced a significant development in a homicide investigation within the Freedom Division. The victim, Tabulon Debreshea Reece, aged 33, was recently the subject of a tragic event that culminated in her untimely death.
Nicholas Jordan Gandy, 37, has been identified by detectives as the suspect in connection to Reece’s murder. A warrant for his arrest was issued as a consequence of the ongoing investigation, leading to his capture yesterday. According to the official report from the CMPD, Gandy was apprehended by the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) and was subsequently interviewed by homicide detectives at the Law Enforcement Center (LEC).
Following the conclusion of this interview, authorities transferred Gandy to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office. He now faces a murder charge, as noted in the CMPD news release.
