CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A north Charlotte church is making a push to add affordable housing to its campus.
Through a partnership with True Homes, University City is looking to rezoning 4.9 acres on the outskirts of its 14.5-acre property to put 65 townhomes. The church is located at the intersection of West Sugar Creek Road and West WT Harris Boulevard.
All of the homes will be offered for sale for leased to households earnings 80 percent or less of the annual median income (AMI), Charlotte city planning leaders explained to City Council Monday night. Some could be live-work units.
