DoorDash driver pleads guilty to killing teenager in Uptown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A DoorDash driver who allegedly shot and killed a teenager in Uptown Charlotte in 2025 pleaded guilty in Mecklenburg County court on Thursday.

Keshawn Tyree Boyd was arrested soon after 15-year-old Matthias Crockett was shot and killed on Jan. 22, 2025.

Boyd was delivering a DoorDash order to a location on West 8th Street and left his car running when he got out to deliver the food. Once Boyd was out of the vehicle, Crockett reportedly got in, possibly in an attempt to steal it…
