Charlotte man killed during attempted kidnapping and theft; 19-year-old now facing murder charge

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 19-year-old young man is facing multiple felony charges following a deadly shooting this month in north Charlotte.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded around 12:33 a.m. on February 9 to the 3500 block of David Cox Road for a shots-fired call.

When officers arrived, they found Michael Alexander, 45, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Atrium Health’s main hospital, where he later died.
