CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Rent is going up in Mecklenburg County and there’s less affordable places to live. It’s a crisis impacting more of our neighbors, according to the 2025 Mecklenburg County Housing Instability and Homelessness report.
The report says from 2015- 2024, nearly 80% of the low-cost housing stock disappeared. This is making it harder for people to find and stay in rental properties.
