Smoke in South End determined to be a dumpster fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Plumes of smoke were seen billowing out of South End. The cause was a dumpster fire, Charlotte Fire Department confirmed.

Firefighters responded to the fire on South Tryon Street and Rampart Street. Initially, it appeared to be a structure fire but it was contained to the dumpster on the side of Monday Night Brewing.

The fire was quickly extinguished, Charlotte Fire said, with no damage to the building…
