Charlotte Woman Arrested After Police Say She Stole Nearly $10,000 in Lululemon Merchandise From Atherton Mill Store

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA — A 36-year-old woman has been arrested after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say she was involved in stealing nearly $10,000 worth of Lululemon merchandise from the Atherton Mill store in the city’s Central Division.

Providence Division Organized Retail Theft detectives were first contacted on Feb. 11 by Lululemon loss prevention staff regarding a reported larceny at the Atherton Mill location. Surveillance images helped investigators positively identify a suspect, according to authorities.

Investigation Spans Multiple Divisions

Police said that through further investigation — and with assistance from multiple CMPD divisions and the department’s Aviation Unit — detectives located a suspect vehicle in the Westover Division. Officers tracked the vehicle to the University City Division.

While officers were initially unable to apprehend the fleeing suspect, they recovered abandoned merchandise valued at approximately $7,700. Authorities continued their investigation in the days that followed.

Arrest Made After Continued Investigation
