Shipping giant Maersk is pushing back its plans to make Charlotte its headquarters by one year, but told state officials it remains committed to adding 520 jobs and investing $16 million in support of the move.
The committee, which is part of the N.C. Department of Commerce, granted Maersk’s request on Tuesday to delay the job commitment targets tied to a $9.8 million state incentives package. Maersk will now add the employees from 2027 to 2029, rather than 2026 to 2028, as announced in November.
