CMPD targets South Charlotte crime hotspots with ‘Queen City Safe’ patrols this weekend

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is making a big push to patrol areas where they see the most crime. This weekend, they’re focusing on south Charlotte.

It’s part of the department’s Queen City Safe initiative, launched in response to a recent uptick in crime in Uptown.
