State leaders demand answers after chemical spill near SC school

(WACH) — South Carolina leaders are demanding answers after a chemical spill near an elementary school.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace sent a letter on Friday to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin and U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Sean Duffy, demanding federal intervention following multiple chemical spills at Silfab Solar’s Fort Mill facility, located directly adjacent to a Flint Hill elementary school.

A solar company spilled toxic chemicals next to an elementary school, hid it from the public for six days, was ordered to shut down, and is planning to reopen anyway.
