Woman accused of attempting to burn down southwest Charlotte home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A woman faces arson charges after allegedly pouring gasoline around a southwest Charlotte home early Sunday morning and threatening to burn it down with occupants inside, according to court records.

Tonniemara Gabriel, 48, allegedly poured gasoline along the front bushes and side of a home on Jacobs Fork Lane around 4:30 a.m., according to court records. Doorbell camera footage captured Gabriel dumping gasoline from a clear gas can around the residence.

Gabriel told officers on scene she intended to burn down the house with the occupants inside, according to an affidavit. Officers recovered two lighters: one tossed on the front lawn and another removed from Gabriel’s pocket before her detention…
