Mother speaks out after son found dead in northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte mother is speaking out after her 24-year-old son was found dead in a remote area of northwest Charlotte, a case police are now investigating as a homicide.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said officers responded just after 10 a.m. Tuesday to assist Medic on Belmeade Drive. When they arrived, they found a man dead in a utility right-of-way near a dirt road and railroad tracks.

The victim was later identified as Julian Cyress Spencer, who had just turned 24 in February, according to his family…
