Uptown Airbnb Horror: Charlotte Woman Re-Arrested After Alleged Hours-Long Assault

A Charlotte woman accused of carrying out a brutal, hours-long attack on her girlfriend inside an Uptown Airbnb is back behind bars, after authorities say she broke the rules of her electronic monitoring.

Court filings show Jakari Snowden was re-arrested on March 14, 2026, and is being held in the Mecklenburg County jail on a $100,000 secured bond while her felony case moves forward.

Allegations From the Warrant Affidavit

According to The NC Beat, a warrant affidavit describes a night of escalating violence inside an Airbnb on North Poplar Street during a July 2024 trip. Investigators say Snowden punched the victim, hit her in the head with both a tequila bottle and a lamp, and cut her with a knife, leaving bleeding wounds in several areas.

The affidavit further alleges Snowden stripped and humiliated the victim, poured liquor on her, spat on her, took nude photos and threatened to post them online, all while forcing sexual acts under the threat of more violence. The victim ultimately escaped by jumping out of a window, sought medical treatment, and later returned to New York, the filing states.
