Burlington native turns family staple into North Carolina treat: ‘Love through a physical object’

MATTHEWS, N.C. (WGHP) — At a commercial kitchen in Matthews, Becca Wright is pinching pennies, but not in the way you might think.

“Quality is really important with small batches, so every single batch we have to keep an eye on,” Wright said.

She’s a small business owner with a seven-person team, and she does watch every dollar, but her pennies are golden, cheesy and slightly spicy biscuit crackers.

The recipe came from her grandma, Grandbetty, who taught her dad.
