BELMONT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man accused of robbing someone at gunpoint Thursday morning is now in custody after leading police on a chase that ended with a crash along Interstate 85 in west Charlotte, according to the Belmont Police Department.
Authorities responded around 7 a.m. Thursday, March 19, to a reported armed robbery at a Lowe’s on Caldwell Farm Road in Belmont. Police learned a man had taken a person’s phone and wallet at gunpoint before running from the scene.
During the morning investigation, Belmont Police identified the suspect as Reginald Cannon and connected him to a green Dodge Charger.
