One person hurt in shooting near Walmart in University City, suspect arrested

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A shooting in northeast Charlotte left one person hurt on Thursday.

The shooting happened outside the Walmart Neighborhood Market and a 7/11 gas station on North Tryon Street near Pavilion Boulevard. One person suffered life-threatening injuries in the shooting, according to Medic.

Police said the victim and the suspect exchanged gunfire, which resulted in the victim being struck. The victim exited the gas station when the suspect pulled up, leading to an argument, according to court records…
