MATTHEWS, N.C. — A driver has been charged after striking a woman and a baby in a crosswalk in downtown Matthews, according to Matthews Police.
The collision happened at the intersection of West John Street and North Trade Street, where the driver was making a left turn when the pedestrians were hit, police confirmed.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries and her current condition are unknown. No injuries were reported for the baby, police said…
