CMPD cracks down on speeding along I-277, issues over 140 charges

(QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A recent traffic enforcement operation by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police led to more than 100 traffic stops and over 140 charges along Interstate 277.

According to CMPD, the operation happened last week on the outer loop of Interstate 277 and focused on speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors.

Officers across multiple divisions teamed up with the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office to carry out the effort. In total, officers made 115 traffic stops and issued 141 charges…
