Charlotte mother charged after infant falls out of moving vehicle

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A mother has been charged after her seven-month-old child fell out of a moving vehicle, according to court records.

On March 28, officers responded to the 11200 block of Providence Road about a juvenile physical abuse call. When they arrived, they talked to the victims’ father and mother, who said they got into an argument while in the vehicle.

While the vehicle was moving in the parking lot, the mother, 26-year-old Diarra McFarland, got out of the vehicle holding both children, causing all three to fall out of the vehicle, officials said.

Records said the seven-month-old landed on their head, “causing mental impairment.” They were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Officials didn’t say how old the other victim was or if they were injured…
