Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a recent sweep in the Hickory Grove division turned up a juvenile suspect, a stolen gun and a stash of hard drugs, all in one afternoon.
The department’s Southwest Service Area Crime Reduction Unit executed two search warrants in Hickory Grove on March 25, arresting one juvenile and pulling suspected narcotics, cash and firearms out of the neighborhood. Officers reported recovering suspected cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with a device described as a full-auto conversion switch and two handguns, one of which was confirmed stolen. According to the department, the juvenile now faces multiple trafficking and property-related charges.
In a post by CMPD News, the department said officers seized about 226.9 grams of suspected cocaine, roughly 14.3 grams of methamphetamine, 13.7 grams of suspected fentanyl and 30.9 grams of marijuana. They also reported more than $4,100 in U.S. currency, two firearms, one confirmed stolen, and a “full auto conversion switch device.” CMPD said one juvenile was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl and cocaine, possession of a stolen vehicle and stolen firearm, and possession of a weapon of mass destruction. “Great work by our Southwest Service Area (SWSA) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) team in removing dangerous narcotics and firearms from the streets!” the department wrote…
