Charlotte man attacks 2 inside NoDa home and sets house on fire, faces nearly two dozen charges police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – A Charlotte man was arrested Friday night after police say he broke into an east Charlotte home, attacked two people inside and set the home on fire.

Police arrested 29-year-old Aleksandros Soutzos after officers were called late Friday to a home in the NoDa neighborhood near Herrin Avenue, where the violent attack allegedly happened.

What police say happened

Police said Soutzos broke into the home before officers arrived and attacked a man and a woman inside.

Soutzos allegedly attacked the man with a wooden table leg and a stolen silver pocketknife, then poured gasoline on him, according to court documents…
