17-year-old robbed of $2,000 at gunpoint in southwest Charlotte, suspect arrested

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man is facing charges for a southwest Charlotte robbery, according to court records.

The robbery happened at the Voltage Sports Bar & Lounge on South Tryon Street near Clanton Road around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. Dupree Naz Jah Redfern, 28, is accused of robbing a 17-year-old male at gunpoint with another suspect, court records say. The victim told police he was inside the business when the robbery happened, according to an affidavit.

Redfern allegedly stole between $2,000 and $3,000 from the teen. Records show Redfern was involved in another shooting in the parking lot near the Voltage Sports Bar & Lounge around the time of the robbery. He was taken to the hospital by another person for gunshot injuries…
