Girlfriend’s cheating prank ends with shots fired into car full of people, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV/Gray News) – Police in North Carolina say a man is accused of firing shots into a car full of people, including his girlfriend, after a prank gone wrong.

According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, 20-year-old Shyhied Ivey fired three shots into a car carrying five people, including his girlfriend, Naveah Covington, about 11:40 p.m. April 4.

An affidavit said Covington and her four friends were getting food at Camp North End in Charlotte when they decided to play a prank on Ivey, whom Covington had been dating for five months…
