CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – It is Black Maternal Health Week. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the maternal mortality rate for Black mothers is more than three times higher than that of white women.
Advocates said the week is intended to raise awareness and amplify the voices of Black mothers and those working to improve outcomes.
