CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Power has been restored for tens of thousands of Duke Energy customers in Charlotte, who were without power as of late Sunday morning. According to the utility’s outage map, the vast majority of the outages were in the greater University Area.
A Duke spokesperson said most of the outages were caused by a tree falling onto power lines, and said crews were dispatched to restore power as quickly as possible.
