Three-time champion NASCAR Ford driver Joey Logano is still incredibly competitive on the track, but he’s already making plans for what comes after he hangs up his helmet. He recently announced he’s taking on partial ownership of a local Blue Oval dealer in North Carolina, and that partnership will officially kick off this week.
Logan, who drives the No. 22 NASCAR Ford Mustang Dark Horse, is joining up with Krause Automotive Group to officially make Joey Logano’s Ford in Huntersville, North Carolina. Logano himself will not be directly involved in the daily operations of that Ford store, but he aims to cultivate an environment dedicated not only to vehicle sales and service, but for other activities, too.
“If people are looking to do something on Saturday, we want Joey Logano’s Huntersville Ford to be an option for cars and coffee, or a concert, or a place to watch the race,” Logano said. “There are a million ideas I have on how we can do that and create that car club culture. I see plenty of passionate Ford owners every weekend at the racetrack. They bleed Ford blue, and I think it would be cool if we can get them all together in one place.”
Beyond that, Logano says that the new dealership represents a desire to do more than just drive a NASCAR Ford race car. The investment helps him lock in his future after the track. It made a lot of sense, he says, considering that he’s been in the Cup Series for 17 years and has been behind the wheel of a Ford for 14 of those seasons, so he’s already built an incredible relationship with The Blue Oval.
“I want to prove to myself that I’m not a one-trick pony. That is very important to me,” he said. “When I see other business owners that have built something incredible, I am fully amazed by it. Roger Penske did it. Henry Ford did it. My father did it. These guys were all-in, and they built this incredible thing, so I want to see what I’ve got.”…
