ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — An Albemarle County police officer was seriously hurt and airlifted to a local hospital following a Wednesday afternoon crash.
The crash occurred at around 3:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19, on Browns Gap Turnpike near Slam Gate Road while the police officer was on scene responding to a call for service, according to the Albemarle County Police Department.
Authorities said the police officer was seriously injured and airlifted to a local hospital for treatment. They are currently in stable condition.
