HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – South High Street in Harrisonburg was shut down between Grace Street and Maryland Avenue on Monday afternoon after a car crashed into a home, according to city officials.
Michael Parks, the city of Harrisonburg’s director of communications and public engagement, told WHSV a car ran off the road into the side of a home in the 600 block of South High Street. Nobody was inside the building at the time of the crash, Parks said. There was only person in the vehicle, and they were receiving medical treatment at the scene.
The crash required many first responders, including Dominion Energy, as the car hit the house right where gas lines connect, Parks sad. Dominion was there to ensure whether it was safe to remove the vehicle from the building, he added. All surrounding houses were evacuated due to the risk…
