CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville City Council will hear the 2026 Affordable Housing report during its Tuesday night meeting, its first since the opening of 2000 Holiday Drive last Tuesday, according to meeting agenda.
The meeting is set for Tuesday due to Labor Day falling on Monday. Madelyn Metzler, Housing Compliance Director, and James Freas, Deputy City Manager, will be presenting the report.
“In 2021, City Council adopted the City’s first Affordable Housing Plan (AHP), establishing a 10-year, $100 million local funding commitment and setting targets to expand affordable housing, preserve existing units, and stabilize households at risk of displacement,” the policy briefing said. “The AHP calls for ongoing updates to City Council and the public to track progress toward funding goals, income-level targeting guidelines, and housing production benchmarks.”…
