Third annual day of service brings together more than 250 volunteers

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – More than 250 volunteers came together today for the third annual day of service.

They completed projects benefiting 16 civic, educational and faith-based nonprofits. Volunteers contributed hundreds of hours of service to organizations across Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley.

Charlottesville area volunteers prepared lunches for guests at the UVA Hospitality House, and sent uplifting messages to the residents of Our Lady of Peace, and cleared overgrowth from gardens and fences at Piedmont Virginia Community College.

Residents of Pendleton Manor Nursing Home in Franklin, West Virginia, Blue Ridge Rehabilitation and North Augusta Nursing Home in Staunton received handmade cards from volunteers…
