CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Virginia agencies and community groups met to plan how to help families navigate changes to Medicaid and SNAP under the federal law H.R.1.
The regional planning session, Tuesday, Sept. 22, focused on new federal work requirements and connecting people with support to meet them.
“Folks are going to be subject to new federal work requirements,” said Amanda Kay, director of benefit programs for the Virginia Department of Social Services. “We need the community to understand what that means and how they can come together to help keep folks on both SNAP and Medicaid.”…
