GREENE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Signups begin later this week for Shop with a Cop, a program helping children who may otherwise go without this Christmas.
For 15 years, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office has used the program to help families during the holidays while building relationships between children and the deputies who serve them.
The program is funded through community donations and an annual golf tournament, which Sheriff Steve Smith says has raised as much as $12,000 to $14,000 in previous years…
