Albemarle school board member resigns amid ongoing flurry of district dilemmas

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) – Albemarle County School Board member Jim Dillenbeck has resigned from his position. The five remaining board members requested his resignation after they say he broke their trust.

In a joint statement, Chair Rebecca Berlin, Vice Chair Ellen Osborne, Kate Acuff, Bob Beard, and Judy Lê accused Dillenbeck of disclosing confidential information, contradicting and misrepresenting facts known to all board members, revealing sensitive personnel information and presenting rumor and opinion as fact. All of this allegedly took place at a recent town hall.

Prior to his resignation, Dillenbeck represented the Rio district. The school board says his vacancy will be filled abiding with the Code of Virginia and will have more details when available…
