Syracuse forced to use 4th-string quarterback in road defeat to Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Even if Fran Brown didn’t show it, he knew the feeling all too well.

It’s the cusp of midnight at Scott Stadium. Rain pours onto the metal bleachers around the venue. Most of them are empty now. The game ended almost an hour ago.
