First Alert Sunday: Periods Of Heavy Rain, Risk Of Storms

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Good morning. A Flood Watch is in effect for parts of the region until 7 pm this evening. Remnant energy from once Hurricane Isaias is blanketing the region. We’ll see periods or rain for the rest of the day. Some rain will be heavy at times, keep that in mind if you live near or around a flood prone area, and a small creek or stream. As we progress into the afternoon, the atmosphere may become a bit unstable, leading to scattered storms, that may cause a quick spin up tornado. As the remnant energy moves away, conditions will begin to wind down tonight into early Monday. Sky conditions will gradually clear, and temperatures are expected to warm into the mid 70s by Monday afternoon. We’ll keep you updated. Have a great, and safe day !
