CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – The Charlottesville Police Department is assisting the FBI with an operation on St. Charles Avenue. A heavy police presence could be seen in the area before 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 23. Armed officers could be seen in front of a home, and bystanders away from the scene due to safety concerns.
