Shifflett nets 22 years for murder conviction in Greene

The Schuyler man convicted of second-degree murder and being a non-violent felon in possession of a gun related to the death of Ruckersville resident on August 10, 2022 received a 22-year active prison term Tuesday in Greene County Circuit Court.

Allen Michael Shifflett, 31, stood before Presiding Judge David M. Barredo with family and friends surrounding him in the courtroom when he learned his fate.

Judge Barredo sentenced Shifflett to 40 years in prison on the murder charge and two years on the gun possession conviction. He suspended 20 years on the former charge and none on the latter.

Both will run consecutively netting the 22 years.

One of three persons charged with the crime of killing Dwight Wayne Roach, Shifflett was named the “trigger man” by Greene County Commonwealth’s Attorney Edwin “Win” Consolvo during am October 30, 2023 plea deal hearing.

Others charged and convicted of related crimes in the incident include Daniel Emmett Roberts, 33, of Stanardsville and Ashlee Renee Morris, 38, of Barboursville.
