Nine Charlottesville residents who own expensive properties are suing to stop upzoning

As many expected, a handful of Charlottesville residents last week sued the city to stop officials from enacting its new zoning ordinance. The new code broadly increases the density allowed throughout the city. The 50-page lawsuit lays out numerous allegations about how an increase in density would lower property values, clog streets, strain public services and forever change the look and feel of the city.
