RWSA says wastewater treatment continues unabated at Moore’s Creek facility

CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – RWSA has issued a release saying despite damage to it’s largest wastewater pumping station January 9, the Moore’s Creek Advanced Water Resource Recovery Facility continues to fully process all the wastewater received each day. The authority says a temporary pumping system is processing about 6-million gallons of wastewater each day from the northern parts of Albemarle County and Charlottesville. An initial temporary pumping station is operating with a 10-million-gallon-a-day capacity.
